Prof. Amir Mostafapour, University of Tabriz, Iran
Amir Mostafapour, born in 1971 in Iran, is a distinguished manufacturing engineer with a focus on welding and advanced manufacturing processes. He received his Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Ph.D. degrees in Manufacturing Engineering from the University of Tabriz and the University of Amirkabir, completing his doctorate in 2006. His Ph.D. thesis focused on the “On-Line Monitoring of Tool Wear in Face Milling using Neural Networks,” and his M.Sc. thesis was titled “Automatic Bending Die Design with Expert System.”Dr. Mostafapour has an extensive teaching career that began in 1998 and continues to the present. He has taught a wide range of courses at various institutions, including the University of Tabriz, Sahand University of Technology, and Elm o Sanat University, among others. His teaching repertoire spans advanced topics such as Non-Destructive Testing, Welding Inspection, Coating Methods, and several specialized subjects in manufacturing engineering.Currently, an Associate Professor at the University of Tabriz, Dr. Mostafapour has also supervised numerous Master’s theses, guiding research on topics such as weld-induced residual stresses, finite element modeling, acoustic emission methods, and friction stir processing. His academic contributions and guidance have significantly advanced the field of manufacturing engineering, making him a respected figure in his area of expertise. Dr. Mostafapour continues to inspire future engineers through his teaching and research.
