Dr. Giacomo Baima, University of Turin, Italy
Giacomo Baima is an accomplished Italian periodontist and researcher, born on April 28, 1991. He holds a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree, graduating cum laude from the University of Turin in 2016, and has further specialized in periodontology through an MSc in Dental Sciences and an Expert in Periodontal Clinics degree from the Complutense University of Madrid. Dr. Baima completed a PhD in Bioengineering and Surgical Sciences at the Politecnico of Turin and the University of Turin in 2023.Currently, Dr. Baima is a research fellow at the Section of Periodontology, Department of Surgical Sciences, University of Turin. His work predominantly focuses on clinical and basic research in periodontology and peri-implant diseases, dedicating 80% of his time to research activities. He also serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Turin’s C.I.R. Dental School, where he teaches and supervises postgraduate and undergraduate students in periodontology.Dr. Baima is actively involved in editorial roles, serving as an Associate Editor of the Journal of Periodontal Research and a member of the Editorial Board for the Journal of Osseointegration. He frequently reviews for several high-impact journals indexed on Scopus, including the Journal of Dental Research and the Journal of Clinical Periodontology.
