Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jinzhu Zhang, Taiyuan University of Technology, China

Dr. Jinzhu Zhang is an Associate Professor at the College of Mechanical Engineering, Taiyuan University of Technology, in Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province, China. He completed his Ph.D. and Bachelor’s degree at Yanshan University, China, where he conducted research on the design of a hexapod robot with protective mechanical legs. After earning his Ph.D., he worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Tsinghua University, focusing on the synthesis of less-degree-of-freedom (DOF) parallel drive mechanisms. Since 2019, Dr. Zhang has been serving as a Lecturer and, more recently, an Associate Professor at Taiyuan University of Technology. His current research involves the interactive control of bionic robots, utilizing digital twin technology. Dr. Zhang has led over 10 national and provincial-level projects, including significant contributions to a National Natural Science Foundation project and a key national project. He has been granted 42 Chinese invention patents and one U.S. patent. In addition to his research accomplishments, he has edited two textbooks on robotics and received numerous accolades, including a second-class teaching achievement award in Shanxi Province, a “Good Design” creative award, and the Mechanical Engineering Society’s Outstanding Paper Award. Dr. Zhang is also a dedicated educator, teaching courses such as “Electromechanical Transmission and Control,” “Industrial Robotics,” and “Robot Mechanism,” where he serves as the course leader. His extensive research in special robots and biomimetic robots has contributed significantly to the field of robotics.
