Mokhtar Hjiri was born on March 17, 1984, in Mareth, Gabes, Tunisia. He is a Tunisian national residing at 51 Street Habib Bourguiba, Mareth 6080, Gabes, Tunisia. Mokhtar completed his master’s degree in Materials and Nanomaterials in 2010 from the University of Monastir. He earned his PhD in 2016 through a collaborative program between the University of Monastir and the University of Messina. Following his doctorate, he served as an assistant professor at King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah, KSA, from 2016 to 2020. Since August 2022, he has been an associate professor at Imam Mohammed Ibn Saud Islamic University in Riyadh, KSA. His research primarily revolves around the synthesis of nanomaterials for various applications, including gas sensors and wastewater treatment. Mokhtar has a diverse teaching portfolio covering subjects like general physics, electromagnetism, optics, semiconductors, and electronics. He is proficient in Arabic, English, French, and Italian and possesses extensive research skills in techniques such as spin coating for metal oxide thin films, synthesis of nanopowders, and the use of X-ray diffraction and gas sensing apparatus. His academic contributions include supervising master’s theses and conducting significant research in nanoparticle synthesis and gas sensing technologies.
