Transitioning to academia in 1990, he became a professor in the Department of Information Security Engineering at Soonchunhyang University and, in 2024, the Director of the SCH Cybersecurity Research Centre. He has held key advisory roles for the Office of National Security, the Ministry of Interior and Safety, and other Korean government agencies, contributing to national cybersecurity policies. His leadership extends to the ISMS/PIMS certification committee since 2007 and the information security committee for the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Games. A graduate of Hanyang University, he holds a Bachelor’s (1981), Master’s (1983), and Ph.D. (1990) in Electronics Engineering.
