Prof Dr. Erik Ortiz Guerra, Universidad Central “Marta Abreu” de las Villas, Cuba

Erik Ortiz Guerra is a distinguished academic and researcher specializing in telecommunications and electronics. Born on July 5, 1984, in Santa Clara, Villa Clara, Cuba, Erik earned his Telecommunications and Electronics Engineering degree with a gold medal from the Central University “Marta Abreu” of Las Villas in July 2008. He continued his academic journey at the same institution, completing a Master’s degree in Telematics in March 2011, followed by pre-doctoral training at the Federal University of Technology – ParanĆ”, Brazil, from July 2013 to February 2014. Erik attained the pinnacle of his academic career with a Doctor of Technical Sciences in Telecommunications from his alma mater in November 2015, subsequently becoming a Full Professor in the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications in January 2019. Throughout his career, Erik has been deeply involved in various cutting-edge research projects, including initiatives focused on Smart Water management, Internet of Things (IoT) education, and digital transformation in engineering education. His contributions underscore his commitment to advancing technology and education in Cuba and beyond.
