Muhammad Waqar is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Micro & Nano Electronics Engineering at Dongguk University in Seoul, Republic of Korea, a program he began in 2020. Prior to this, he completed his Master of Science in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Power Electronics at COMSATS University in Islamabad, Pakistan, from 2014 to 2016. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences-FAST in Islamabad, Pakistan, graduating in 2013.

Muhammad Waqar has a diverse professional background, starting with his current role as a Ph.D. Research Assistant at the Millimeter wave innovation technology (MINT) research center at Dongguk University in Seoul, where he has been involved in various projects focused on the design and fabrication of high-responsivity and solar-blind UV light photodetectors for light-induced fluorescence spectroscopy (LIFS), as well as the fabrication of highly flexible strain sensors using conducting polymer film on PDMS substrate. His expertise also extends to material synthesis, including the synthesis and doping of ZnO Nanorods, polypyrrole, carbon nanotubes, graphene flakes, graphene sheets, GaN, AlGaN, and AlGaN/GaN epitaxial structures. Prior to his current role, Muhammad worked for Lucky Cement Limited at the Pezu Plant in Pakistan as an Assistant Manager in the Instrument and Control department. During his time there, he was involved in several projects, including the erection of Line-2 SINOMA(CDI) with a production capacity of 8000 tons/day. He was also a member of the SAP team, responsible for managing daily in/out stock spares and instruments. His responsibilities included the installation of various sensors, actuators, pressure and temperature sensors, flow and level transmitters, vibro and proximity sensors, as well as configuring and diagnosing faults in DCS, PLC, Profibus Communication, analyzers, and control loops. He was also involved in the installation, calibration, and loop checking of field instruments, and reviewing control philosophy, P&I diagrams, instruments lists, and flow charts. Before his tenure at Lucky Cement Limited, Muhammad worked as a Lecturer at the Government College of Technology in Peshawar, Pakistan. During his time there, he taught courses in Digital Logic Design, AC machines, and Electrical Power Engineering, showcasing his passion for education and sharing his knowledge with students.
