Prof. Dr. Hamid Ali Abed Alasadi is a distinguished academic and researcher, currently serving as the Head of the Computer Science Department at CSPS, University of Basrah, Iraq. Born in Iraq, he earned his B.Sc. and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering and Communication Engineering from Basrah University in 1987 and 1994, respectively. He completed his Ph.D. in Computer and Communication Network Engineering at University Putra Malaysia in 2011. Prof. Alasadi has been a faculty member at Basrah University since 1995, achieving the rank of Full Professor in 2014. His leadership roles include serving as the Head of the Computer Science Department at Basrah University (2012–2016) and the Head of the Communication Engineering Department at Iraq University College (2018). His research spans optical communications, optical fiber, information theory, wireless networks, sensor networks, fuzzy logic, neural networks, swarm intelligence, computer engineering, and artificial intelligence.
